Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 July 2026

1. What BaleCast is

BaleCast ("the Service", "we") provides weather-based guidance for making hay, haylage and related field operations: forecast summaries, detected weather windows, alerts, and record-keeping tools. The Service is operated by Pammy Stevenson Products Ltd, based in Scotland, United Kingdom, and is currently provided free of charge as an early-access product.

2. Weather guidance, not a guarantee

Weather forecasts are inherently uncertain. BaleCast's windows, confidence levels and alerts are guidance derived from third-party forecast models — they are not a promise of dry weather, and they can be wrong. All agricultural decisions — including whether and when to cut, turn, bale, wrap, graze, spray or fertilise — remain entirely yours. You should always apply your own judgement and local knowledge alongside anything the Service shows you.

3. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for crop loss, crop damage, business losses, or any other loss arising from reliance on the Service, from forecast inaccuracy, from missed or delayed alerts, or from the Service being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.

4. Your account

You need a valid email address to use the Service. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the accuracy of the information you record. You must be able to enter into a contract to use the Service.

5. Your data and content

Farm locations, field details and activity records you enter belong to you. You grant us the licence needed to store and process them to run the Service, including deriving anonymised, aggregated insights that do not identify you or your holdings. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Farm sharing

If you share a farm with other users, they can see its data as described in the app (windows, forecasts, records) and will receive alerts. You are responsible for who you invite; we are not responsible for what invited users do with data you chose to share with them.

7. Acceptable use

Don't attempt to disrupt the Service, access other users' data, scrape the Service at scale, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

8. Changes and termination

The Service is under active development: features may change, and early-access features may be modified or withdrawn. We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. You can stop using the Service and request deletion of your account and data at any time.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
